This project involved severe, hidden water damage from a multi-level leak, in which water traveled from an upper floor and became trapped in ceilings and wall cavities. The issue was first noticed as water stains and dripping from the AC vents, but an inspection revealed extensive moisture buildup across multiple levels.
We performed controlled demolition of ceilings and walls to access saturated materials, including insulation, framing, and drywall.
We completed targeted drying of wall cavities, ceiling joists, and hardwood flooring, followed by cleaning and antimicrobial treatment to prevent mold growth. This project highlights the importance of addressing hidden water damage inside ceilings and walls before it leads to structural or mold issues.
Water often travels through framing, pipes, and wall cavities, moving from upper levels and collecting in ceilings or walls below before becoming visible.
Common signs include water stains, bubbling paint, sagging drywall, or leaks coming from vents, light fixtures, or ceiling seams.
Absolutely. If moisture is not fully removed, mold can begin to develop within 24–48 hours, especially in closed wall and ceiling cavities.
